Is your script killing you?

Is your script killing you?

I think it was Mark Twain that said that when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem is a nail.

Many network marketers approach their business in a similar fashion, only their hammer is their script and every prospect must conform to their version of a nail!

Scripts can be a great asset in that they give you the words to say and a path to follow. The problem is that in real life your prospect doesn’t have a copy of your script and doesn’t know their part.

[More:]

To compensate for this most scripts workout a flow-chart like pattern getting the prospect to answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to various questions. An open response or actual conversation is the last thing a script can account for.

The problem with following a yes/no line of questioning is that prospects immediately feel manipulated. This brings up the prospects natural defense mechanism – objections, rejections, and excuses. What you’re not aware of is that your script is often the cause of the awkward situations that create prospecting anxiety.

The solution isn’t to get a ‘better’ script but rather to learn how to connect with your prospect in a natural and credible way. Stop by our site and hear examples of how Leaders Club helped 4 marketers solve their own specific marketing challenges.

Learn clear, specific solutions to your own marketing and prospecting challenges. No hypothetical’s. No vague examples. No blurred generalizations.
