McCain or Obama – Does it really matter for Small Business?
A lot of people are wondering which candidate running for President of the United Stated of America would be better for them and their small business or home based business.
In terms of the big picture, the strength of the economy, employment, even the deficit and national debt play a role in the success of every business – small or large. When the economy is doing well, the trend is that all businesses tend to do better. When the economy is bad and consumers get picky about what they spend money on – it affects us all.
Yet to blame government for our woes, or to look to government for our personal economic security is the opposite of the energy that makes small business tick.
Frankly it doesn’t matter if Obama takes the white house or if McCain steps in. You’re responsible for your personal wealth, accomplishments, success and failures. There are opportunities for business and for learning new skills no matter what the economic or political environment.
The big picture may matter, but if you’re going to rely on the government to tell you that it’s OK to start making money again then you are in for a lifetime of instability.
“A leader is someone who steps back from the entire system and tries to build a more collaborative, more innovative system that will work over the long term.” - Robert B. Reich (Economicc Professor, former Secretary of Labor)

The business I am involved, Commercial Architectural Products, is tied to the financial health of our country. We constantly assess the market and what adjustments we require to stay in the game and be competitive.
This election, like all Presidential elections, is important and I beieve you have to look inward to decide who is the best candidate for you and your personal situation.
More important is to participate and vote!
I agree, plus it's important to actually know why your are voting FOR a candidate - not just against the other guy.
With the Internet that's easier than ever. Just visit the candidates website and read their platform - and please read "the other guy's" platform too. This way you know you have exercised the most basic tenant of democracy rather than just buy into the political marketing that all candidates like to use.
Once you know why you are voting FOR a candidate it's easier to track their progress on that issue (or plural). If it's a tax cut, health care, improving the economy or social issues like abortion or gun rights - track the reason you voted for them with what they actually do.
Can you tell I'm politically agnostic? :-)
It is quite a decision this election year. McCain who chose a running mate that is nick named Karabou Barbie and can "see Russia from her house".
What was he thinking! He has left us with the dilemma of playing what if. What if McCain gets elected and something happens to John. We get Sarah, holy cow!
Obama and Biden, the odd couple for sure. Obama can't seperate his finger from his thumb when he talks and is so polished as a speaker it is a little uncomfortable at times.
Anyway, the country is balanced by the House, Senate and the President so, again, look at the whole package. Who are the advisors and do you think they have your best interest at heart.
Do your homework and then hope for the best.
Happy voting!
